Web award for succesful online community
With Idainsitute.com our ambition was to create a key global hub for the professional development of audiologists. Launched in October 2008, the site has now proved its success by hosting nearly 10.000 visitors worldwide. The success is now official since the site has won a non-profit Standard of Excellence award in the Web Marketing Association 2009 Web Award competition for outstanding achievement in web development.

A site fulfilling the institute’s mission

Judged on seven different criteria – including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use – the annual Web Award competition recognizes outstanding corporate websites that are judged against Internet standard and peer sites within their industry. The judges praised Idainstitute.com with the following comments: “The graphic design elements of the site are unique and attractive. This is a well-done site. The menu and visual cues are very nice… The copy is also very well written, without being too long or detailed.”

“We are extremely pleased with the results from Web Award. The feedback on our website has been excellent thus far, and we have several new and exciting features for our members that will be launched next year,”

Online community for the professional
development of audiologists

Idainstitute.com supports the work of the Ida Institute, a non-profit organization that focuses on the human dynamics of hearing loss.

Kontrapunkt Online senior brand consultant Rikke Nalepa Olsen explains:

“The idea of an online community is extremely appealing to organizations and firms. It provides a completely new way to engage with stakeholders. However, in real life, it’s difficult to create one. Many have failed. Therefore we are extremely happy that we have managed to create a thriving online community, where audiologist worldwide share their knowledge, learn from experts, and ultimately become better at helping hearing impaired people”.
